Turkish TV dating show contestant reveals he murdered first wife AND an ex-lover

He’s a keeper: Twice-imprisoned Mr Calinak is in the market for a new wife

A Turkish TV dating show contestant was asked to leave – after revealing he had killed his first wife and a subsequent lover.

Sefer Calinak, 62, who – incredibly – was looking for a new wife on Flash TV’s The Luck of the Draw, nonchalantly mentioned his complex history and that he had been imprisoned for both the murders.

Mr Calinak assured that he was now ‘an honest person’ before explaining that his wife met her grisly demise because her behaviour ‘irritated’ him and that he killed his ex-lover because he believed her to be after his money.

Nonchalant: Mr Calinak seemed unbothered when told the shocked host of his past

Talking about his first wife, who fled her proposed arranged marriage to elope with him when they were both 17, he said: ‘The nephew of the man who wanted to marry her started to come to our village. I was jealous and I killed her, in a way.’

He then revealed he killed a subsequent lover after an argument about money: ‘I killed her after she attempted to kill me. She was accidentally killed when I swung the axe.’

He was released early from both sentences in government amnesties.

Mr Calinak was asked to leave the show by the host, prompting applause from the studio audience.

He said he will leave his search for a new wife ‘to God’.
