Brazilian chef creates epic Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar World Cup melon carvings

A Brazilian chef has gone so mad for the World Cup – he has started carving faces of his favourite football stars into food.

Rogerio Holanda, a huge fan of the beautiful game, has earned a reputation for his incredibly realistic carvings of players into huge melons.

The obsession started off with an attempt at doing Neymar, the Barcelona superstar who will play a crucial part in Brazil’s battle for the World Cup, and after earning huge praise, he’s continued.

Mr Holanda has just finished re-creating another South American star; Argentina sensation Lionel Messi, while Cristiano Ronaldo has also got the melon treatment.

All he uses to make his creations is a simple vegetable knife, which he uses to hand carve all of the melons in quick time.

Head down to the San Raphael hotel in Sao Paulo this summer if you want to grab one…
